In 1955 how much did it cost a night to stay in a suite at the Disneyland Hotel?
It’s a lot less then now!
Oh my gosh…
Keeping things relative, in 1955 the average yearly income was $4,130.00, while in 2010 the average yearly income was $41,673.83.
Adjusted for inflation, the 1955 $22 a night room cost $188 in 2012 dollars. A room in the Disneyland Hotel tonight (2012-09-06) is $650.00 $325.00.
EDIT: I just noticed that my original figure of $650 was for two nights, not one. I’ve adjusted.

Happy 98th Birthday, Ward Kimball!
One of Walt’s “Nine Old Men” Ward Kimball is known for his distinct designs and characterizations of several of Disney’s most memorable characters.
Ward is also credited with being a major influence on the Disneyland Railroad and it’s subsequent Magic Kingdom rails around the world. Ward’s own Grizzly Flats rail served as the inspiration for Disneyland’s iconic station. Ward also worked on the World of Motion and is responsible for most of the quirky and wacky gags we all came to love.
Happy Birthday, and thank you, Ward!
